Vojni
Trenutno u Rusiji postoji pet vojnih okruga: četiri redovna vojna okruga
(Zapadno vojno područje, Središnje vojno područje, Istočno vojno
područje, Južno vojno područje) i jedno vojno zapovjedništvo (Zajedničko
strateško zapovjedništvo sjeverne flote). |

The military districts of Russia are a system of military districts in
Russia that serve as administrative divisions for the Russian Armed
Forces. Each district features a geographical territory based on
Russia's federal subjects, and a headquarters administering the military
formations based in the respective territory. There are currently five
military districts in Russia: four regular military districts (Western
Military District, Central Military District, Eastern Military District,
Southern Military District) and one military command (Northern Fleet
Joint Strategic Command). |

The emblem represents stylized images of the snowy peaks of Mount
Elbrus, green forests of the Caucasus foothills and blue waters of the
river Terek. A stylized image of еру double-peaked Mount Elbrus, a
stripe of pine forests and clean water of a mountain river symbolize the
main purpose of the forces of the North-Caucasus Military District –
protection of the Russian Federation southern borders, as the border
district is Russia’s outpost on the Main Caucasian Ridge. In the central
part of the sleeve patch there is the heraldic symbol of Russian Armed
Forces – a golden double-headed eagle with outstretched wings holding a
sword and a laurel wreath. On the eagle’s chest there is a crowned
shield, on the red field of which is the image of a horseman slaying a
dragon. |
