      Kraljevska holandska avijacija (RNLAF; Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu), "Kraljevsko zrakoplovstvo"), grana je vojne avijacije Nizozemskih oružanih snaga. Nastala je 1953. godine; njihov je predhodnik bio Luchtvaartafdeling (odjel za zrakoplovstvo) nizozemske vojske osnovan 1913. Akrobatski pokaznii tim Kraljevskog holandskog ratnog zrakoplovstva bio je Solo Display Team.

      The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF; Dutch: Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu), "Royal Air Force"), is the military aviation branch of the Netherlands Armed Forces. It was created in 1953; its ancestor, the Luchtvaartafdeling (aviation department) of the Dutch Army was founded in 1913. The aerobatic display team of the Royal Netherlands Air Force was the Solo Display Team.

      Uz leteće eskadrile, u zračnoj bazi Twenthe bila je smještena i treća operativna eskadrila, 620 eskadrila osnovana 04. 04. 1996. Ova 620 eskadrila bila je kopnena operativna eskadrila zračne baze. 620 sqn potječe iz 20 eskadrile (Air Force Surveillance Squadron, LB) koja je bila zadužena za čuvanje aerodroma od 1950-ih i 222 sqn (Eskadrila aktivne protuavionske obrane, ALVD). Osnovana 20. 05. 1965. u Twentheu i opremljena Nike Hercules, 222. eskadrila ponovno je deaktivirana 01. 12. 1967. Dana 26. studenog 1981., eskadrila ALVD stacionirana u Twentheu dobila je broj 222. Tako je 222. sqn rebor . 620 sqn trenutno je opremljen protuzračnim projektilima Hawk i Stinger i radarskim vođenim topovima 40L70 40 mm Bofor. Kao amblem eskadrile koristi se stari amblem 500/700 sqn.

      In addition to the flying squadrons, Twenthe airbase also housed a third operational squadron, the 620 sqn established on April 4, 1996. This 620 sqn was the air base's ground operational squadron. The 620 sqn originated from the 20 sqn (Air Force Surveillance Squadron, LB) that had been in charge of guarding the airfield since the 1950s and the 222 sqn (Active Air Defense Squadron, ALVD). Founded on 20 May 1965 at Twenthe and equipped with the Nike Hercules, the 222 squadron was deactivated again on 1 December 1967. On November 26, 1981, the ALVD squadron stationed at Twenthe was assigned the number 222. Thus, the 222 sqn was reborn. The 620 sqn is currently equipped with Hawk and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and radar guided 40L70 40mm Bofor guns. As a squadron emblem, the old 500/700 sqn emblem is used.

      Najstarija eskadrila u avio bazi Volkel je sadašnja 640 eskadrila. Osnovan je 01. 04. 1951. kao eskadrila Avio straže (LBK). Od 06. 1960. ime je promijenjeno u LB-Squadron (Air Force Security). Čuvarske dužnosti sastojale su se od portirne službe (kontrola pristupa na vratima), patrola pješice, biciklom ili motornim vozilom, bilo u pratnji psa ili ne. Godine 1961. eskadrila je proširena i postala najveća eskadrila u zračnoj bazi Volkel. 01. 05. 1987. eskadrila je preimenovana u 40. eskadrilu. Kao rezultat reorganizacije WOLF-a 1995., 40. eskadrila spojena je s 420. eskadrilom (protuzračna obrana) i nastavila se pod sadašnjim imenom 1. siječnja 1996.; 640. Eskadrila.

      The oldest squadron at Volkel Air Base is the current 640 Squadron. It was established on April 1, 1951 as the Air Force Guard Corps Squadron (LBK). From June 1960 the name was changed to LB-Squadron (Air Force Security). The guard duties consisted of porter services (access control at the gates), patrol on foot, by bicycle or by motor vehicle, whether or not accompanied by a dog. In 1961 the squadron was expanded and became the largest squadron at Volkel Air Base. On May 1, 1987, the squadron was renamed 40 Squadron. As a result of the WOLF reorganization in 1995, 40 Squadron was merged with 420 Squadron (Air Defence) and continued under its current name on 1 January 1996; 640 Squadron.

      Eskadrila 961. Podrške avio baze odgovorna je za podršku i zadatke zračne baze u avio bazi Woensdrecht. Obuku provode 3 eskadrile: 130, 131 i 133. Osim toga, Zajednička meteorološka grupa nalazi se u zrakoplovnoj bazi u sklopu KMSL Woensdrecht zračne baze. Eskadrila 980, 981, 982 i 983 pruža održavanje i logistiku za cijelu Kraljevsku holandsku avijaciju.

      The 961 Squadron of the Air Base Organization is responsible for the support and airbase tasks at Woensdrecht Air Base. The training is provided by 3 squadrons: 130, 131 and 133. In addition, the Joint Meteorological Group is located at the air base as part of the KMSL Woensdrecht Air Base. The 980, 981, 982 and 983 Squadron provide maintenance and logistics for the entire Air Force.
