OFFICER's
CAP
BADGE OZNAKE ZA
KAPE |
| |
|
Eoin MacNeill, osnivač i predsjednik irskih
dobrovoljaca.
1916. |

The Irish Defence Forces Cap Badge (or "FF badge" as it is sometimes
called) is – in distinction to the practice in British, Commonwealth,
and many other militaries around the world – common to all services
and corps. Although principally associated with the
Irish Army (Defence
Force regulations in fact describe it as "the Army Badge") it is also
worn by and appears in elements of the insignia of the Naval
Service and Air
Corps. |
|
An original Volunteers brass badge dating from circa 1914. The
inscription reads
Drong Átha Cliath
Irish for 'Dublin Brigade', a variant name for the Dublin Volunteer
Brigade. The badge was designed in 1913 by Eoin MacNeill, a founding
member and chairman of the irish Volunteers. Variations existed for
territorial commands, but the majority of volunteers wore the Óglaigh
na hÉireann badge. It was worn by republicans in the 1916 Eastern
Rising. |

U
Kopnenoj vojsci, oznaku nose svi činovi na svim vrstama kapa. Vojnici i
podoficiri nose "sjajnu" značku, mada neki podoficiri i pojedini stari
mornaričkim kapama i beretkama. Avijacija je prije nosila uniforme
kopnene vojske.
orao. |
|
In the
Army, the badge is worn by all ranks on all head-dress. Enlisted and
non-commissioned ranks wear a "Stay-Brite" brass replica. Some
enlisted ranks, particularly older soldiers, wear the original Brass
Badge which, although no longer official issue, is considered a
symbol of lengthy service. In the Naval Service, the "Stay-Brite"
version of the badge is worn by Seamen and Leading Seaman on their
cap and on the operational beret. The Air Corps previously wore army
uniforms. On the introduction of a distinct blue Air Corps uniform
in 1994, cloth cap badges were introduced for the forage caps and
peaked caps; these have a smaller less detailed version of the badge
embroidered into the design, which incorporates an eagle. |

RANGERS
RENDžERI |

|
Rendžeri je izvedeni naziv jedinice jer direktan prijevod irske fraze "Sciathán
Fianóglach an Airm" ne engleski ne postoji. "Fianóglach"

"Na Fianna" sa sadašnjim
irskim obrambenim snagama. |

RANGERS The Unit is officially
designated 'Sciathán Fianóglach an Airm', which is translated as 'The
Army Ranger Wing'. There is no direct English translation of the term 'Fianóglach'
so the designation Ranger is the accepted version. 'Fianóglach' links
the traditions of the 'Na Fianna' (Legendary Irish Warriors) with the
present day Irish Defence Forces (Óglaigh na hÉireann). Qualified
members of the unit wear the Fianóglach shoulder flash insignia. |

KOPNENA
VOJSKA |
| |
|
brigade. Nastavni centar Odbrambenih snaga djeluje samostalno, izvan
strukure ovih brigada. |
|
The Army has an establishment of 7,310 personnel and consists of a
single division sized element made up of two brigades. Prior to 2012,
the army was divided into three brigades, organised to be responsible
for a geographical area of the State: Southern, Eastern and Western.
Following budgetary decision in 2001, the army was reorganised in late
2012 into a two brigades structure. The training element of the army,
the Defence Forces Trainning Centre, operates independently of the
brigade structure. |
