ENLISTEES VOJNICI

Nakon ulaska u vojsku, vojnici prolaze osnovnu vojnu obuku (Basic Military Training (BMT)) kao regruti. Nakon uspješno provedene obuke, postaje vojnik (Private (PTE)), a dalje napreduje od vojnika 1. klase (Private (First Class) (PFC)), preko razvodnika (Lance Corporal (LCP), kaplara (Corporal (CPL)) do kaplara 1. klase (Corporal (First Class). Oznake ovih činova se nose na obadva rukava uniforme.

Upon enlistment, enlistees enter Basic Military Training (BMT) as Recruits (REC). After graduating from BMT, they attain the rank of Private (PTE). Good performers will progress to the ranks of Private (First Class) (PFC), Lance Corporal (LCP), Corporal (CPL) and Corporal (First Class). These ranks are worn on both sleeves.

SPECIALISTS VOJNICI SPECIJALISTI

Vojnici sa specijalističkim zvanjima su ne samo eksperti u svojim rodovima ili službama nego posjeduju i vojničko iskustvo. Imaju znanja stečena iskustvom, učenjem i obukom u operacijama, održavanju oružja, borbenim vještinama, obuci i administraciji.
Regruti koji pokažu da bi mogli imati komandne sposobnosti biraju se i šalju u Školu za pješadijske specijaliste (School of Infantry Specialists (SISPEC). Za vrijeme obuke nose čin Kadeta specijaliste (Specialist Cadet (SCT). Po uspješno završenoj obuci slijedi promocija u najniži narednički čin: Trećeg narednika (Third Sergeant (3SG)). Nakon toga napreduju redom u Drugog narednika (Second Sergeant (2SG)), pa Prvog narednika (First Sergeant (1SG)), potom Štabnog narednika (Staff Sergeant (SSG)) i na kraju dolaze do čina Glavnog narednika (Master Sergeant (MSG)).

STAFF SERGEANT	MASTER SERGEANT

Specialists are subject matter experts in their respective vocations and the repository of experience in the skills of soldiering. They would have skill-based knowledge in specialised areas like operations, maintenance of weapon systems, combat skills, regimental procedures, training and administration.
Promising enlistees with command potential will be selected to go to the School of Infantry Specialists (SISPEC) for a professional military leadership course. During the course, they will don the Specialist Cadet (SCT) rank. Upon graduation, they will be promoted to Third Sergeant (3SG). Thereafter they will progress to Second Sergeant (2SG), First Sergeant (1SG), Staff Sergeant (SSG) and Master Sergeant (MSG).

WARRANT OFFICERS PODOFICIRI

Podoficiri su srednji komandni sloj i veza između komande i ljudstva. Oni su „kičma“ oružanih snaga Singapura (moj komentar: kao i svim ostalim vojskama svijeta) i na njima počiva operativni rad i obuka jedinica u savladavanju vještina i znanja potrebnih za uspješno djelovanje jedinica. Njihovi činovi idu od trećeg, drugog, prvog podoficira, preko glavnog, starijeg do šefa podoficira.

The Warrant Officers form the middle management and linkage between the command and the men. They form the backbone of the SAF's operational and training units to develop key competencies in leadership, tactical warfighting expertise and front-end training supervision.Warrant Officers will progress along the ranks of 3rd Warrant Officer (3WO), 2nd Warrant Officer (2WO), 1st Warrant Officer (1WO), Master Warrant Officer (MWO), Senior Warrant Officer (SWO) and Chief Warrant Officer (CWO).
