Švedska policija je veoma aktivna u međunarodnim aktivnostima i to na nekoliko različitih područja. Surađuju sa Europolom, Interpolom i u Nordijsko policijskom udruženju. Uključeni su i u pomoći stranim policijama u njihovim nastojanjima da postanu demokratičnije i efikasnije. Sudjeluju i u mirovnim misijama u sastavu snaga Ujedinjenih Naroda, Evropske Unije, OSCE-a i NATO-a diljem svijeta.

      International police cooperation has an increasing impact on Swedish police work. The Swedish Police are internationally active in several areas. The police participate in international operational police cooperation together with foreign police organisations for example directly or through Europol, the Schengen cooperation, Interpol or the Nordic police cooperation.  The police are also involved in international strategic police cooperation. The police also participate in international development cooperation and support foreign police organisations in their efforts to become more democratic and effective. Swedish police officers participate in peace- and security operations as well as conflict-preventing activities. They are recruited to the police forces abroad to serve in the United Nation's, European Union's and the OSCE interventions around the world.

SWEDISH UN TRAINNING SCHOOL   ŠVEDSKI UN TRENING CENTAR

      Švedska ima dugu tradiciju učešća u mirovnim misijama UN-a. Podrška mirovnim misijama sežee u daleku 1948. godinu, kada su poslani prvi vojni promatrači na Bliski Istok. Prvi švedski vojni kontingent pod UN-ovom zastavom je raspoređen u Gazi 1956. Šezdestih godina 20. stoljeća nordijske zemlje koordiniraju svoje aktivnosti u mirovnim misijama. Osnove SWDINT-a su uspostavljene 1961 godine. UN odjel Štaba Oružanih snaga je zadužen za planiranje, organizaciju i provođenje UN operacija za koje je Vlada odučila da će švedske snage učestvovati. 1984 godine spajaju se svi odjeli ua obuka u UN školu Oružanih snaga (FSN). Odlukom švedskog Parlamenta s ovim se Centrom spaja i UN-ov odjel Štaba OS-a.

      Sweden has a long tradition in Peace Support Operations (PSO). Contribution to the United Nations started as early as 1948 when Military Observers were sent to the Middle East. The first Swedish battalion under UN-flag was deployed in Gaza 1956. During the 1960s the Nordic countries agreed to coordinate their activities in the field of peacekeeping training. The foundations of SWEDINT were laid in 1961. The UN department of the Army Staff dealt with the planning, organisation, and execution of UN operations in which the Swedish government decided that Sweden should participate. In 1984 all UN training was brought together at the Armed Forces UN School (FNS).  The UN department was merged with the Armed Forces UN School in 1991 following a decision by the Swedish parliament.

UN-ov MEĐUNARODNI POLICIJSKI CENTAR ZA OBUKU U SARAJEVU

      Korijeni OSCE-a sežu u doba detanta 70' tih godina prošlog stoljeća, kada je osnovana Konferencija za sigurnost i suradnju u Evropi (CSCE) da bi poslužila kao multilateralni forum za dijalog i pregovaranje između Istoka i Zapada. Dvije godine pregovaranja u Helsinkiju i Ženevi kulminiraju završnim Helsinškim aktom, potpisanim 01. 08. 1975. godine. Ovaj dokument donosi i deset principa kojih se trebaju pridržavati države u ophođenju sa svojim građanima, kao i jedne prema drugima. Prestankom Hladnog rata, na samitu u Parizu donosi se Pariška povelja o novoj Evropi gdje se CSCE poziva na učešće u provođenju povijesnih promjena. Ujedno se stvaraju i stalne institucije Organizacije za sigurnost i suradnju u Evropi (OSCE), kako je CSCE preimenovan na Budimpeštanskom sastanku šefova država i vlada krajem 1994. godine.   

      The OSCE traces its origins to the détente phase of the early 1970s, when the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE) was created to serve as a multilateral forum for dialogue and negotiation between East and West. Meeting over two years in Helsinki and Geneva, the CSCE reached agreement on the Helsinki Final Act, which was signed on 1 August 1975. This document also established ten fundamental principles (the 'Decalogue') governing the behaviour of States towards their citizens, as well as towards each other. with the end of the Cold War, the Paris Summit of November 1990 set the CSCE on a new course. In the Charter of Paris for a New Europe, the CSCE was called upon to play its part in managing the historic change taking place in Europe and responding to the new challenges of the post-Cold War period, which led to its acquiring permanent institutions and operational capabilities. The name was changed from the CSCE to the OSCE by a decision of the Budapest Summit of Heads of State or Government in December 1994.
