Republika Abhazia (Abkhaz: Аҧсны Apsny, Georgian: აფხაზეთი Apkhazeti, Megrelian: აბჟუა Abzhua, Russian: Абха́зия Abkhazia) je otcijepljeni teritorij od Gruzije. Do sada su ga priznale zemlje članice Ujedinjenih naroda Ruska Federacija, Venecuela, Nikaragva i Nauru te Južna Osetija i Pridnjestrovje koje nisu članice UN-a. De fakto je Anhazija nezavisna, ali de jure (pravno) je dio Gruzije. Abhazijske snage reda, miliciju, Gruzija ne priznaje. Milicija je podređena Ministarstvu unutarnjih poslova Republike Abhazije i provode zakone koje donosi Vlada i Skupština te odcijepljene države.

Abkhazia (Abkhaz: Аҧсны Apsny, Georgian: აფხაზეთი Apkhazeti, Megrelian: აბჟუა Abzhua, Russian: Абха́зия Abkhazia) is a political entity on the eastern coast of the Black Sea and the south-western flank of the Caucasus whose status is disputed. It considers itself an independent state (the Republic of Abkhazia). This is recognised by UN member states Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Nauru, and also by South Ossetia and Transnistria. Abkhazia is de facto independent but remains a de jure part of Georgia. It has its own law enforcement organizations such as militia (police) that is subject to the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the de facto government. Abkhazian militia also enforce Abkhaz law.

Amblem Republike Abhazije usvojen je 23.07.1992. nakon odcjepljenja od Gruzije. Štit podijeljen vertikalno u dva dijela, bijeli i zeleni u dnu nosi veliku osmerokraku zvijezdu iznad koje lebdi mitski konj Arsh čiji jahač ispaljuje strelice prema nebu. Pri vrhu se, svaka u svojem polju nalaze još dvije osmerokake zvijezde. Cijeli grb je scena iz nacionalnog herojskog epa Narts-a. Zeleno simbolizira mladost, a bijelo duhovnost. Velika zvijezda predstavlja sunce, a manje savez Istoka i Zapada.
Zastavu Abhazije je 1991.g. kreirao V. Gamgia i službeno je usvojena kada i grb. U desnom gornjem kutu na crvenom polju se nalazi ruka otvorenog dlana, što simbolizira Pozdrav prijatelju, stop neprijatelju. Sedam naizmjeničnih zelenih i bijelih polja, kao i sedam zvjezdica koje lučno nadvisuju ruku simboliziraju sedam pokrajina Abhazije: Sadzen, Bzyp, Gumaa, Abzhywa, Samurzaqan, Dal-Tsabal and Pskhuy-Aibga.

The embelm of the Republic of Abkhazia was adopted by the Supreme Soviet of Abkhazia on 23 July 1992, after it declared its secession from Gergia. The emblem of the Republic of Abkhazia is a shield divided vertically into white and green. On this are placed devices outlined in gold: At the base eight-pointed star, in the upper part of both the white and the green field are set two eight-pointed stars. At the centre of the shield is a horseman, flying on the fabulous steed called Arash, and shooting an arrow towards the stars. This scene is from the heroic epic Narts. Green symbolizes youth and life, while white symbolizes spirituality. The stars represent the sun, as well as the union of the East and West. The flag of the Republic of Abkhazia was created in 1991 by V. Gamgia. It was officially adopted on 23 July 1992. The design of the red canton is based on the banner of the medieval Abkhazian Kingdom. The open right hand means "Hello to friends! Stop to Enemies!". The seven stars in the canton have since been reinterpreted to correspond to the seven historical regions of the country - Sadzen, Bzyp, Gumaa, Abzhywa, Samurzaqan, Dal-Tsabal and Pskhuy-Aibga.

STATE SECURITY SERVICE DRŽAVNA SLUŽBA SIGURNOSTI

Služba državne sigurnosti Abhazije (Aҧsny Aҳəynҭқarra ašəarҭadaratə maҵzura, ruski: Služba gosudarstvennoj bezopasnosti Respubliki Abhaziâ) je glavna sigurnosna i obavještajna agencija Abhazije. Dana 27. studenog 1991., Vrhovni sovjet Abhazije dekretom je ukinuo abhazijski KGB i uspostavio Službu državne sigurnosti. Dana 4. prosinca 1992. Vrhovni sovjet skratio je naziv u Sigurnosna služba Abhazije. Dana 20. studenoga 1992., tijekom rata s Gruzijom, osnovana je abhaska granična straža.



The State Security Service of Abkhazia (Аҧсны Аҳәынҭқарра ашәарҭадаратә маҵзура, Russian: Служба государственной безопасности Республики Абхазия) is the principal security and intelligence agency of Abkhazia. On 27 November 1991, the Supreme Soviet of Abkhazia decreed to abolish the Abkhazian KGB and to establish the State Security Service. On 4 December 1992, the Supreme Soviet shortened its name to Security Service of Abkhazia. On 20 November 1992, during the war with Georgia, the Abkhazian border guard was established.
