Glavni štab grčke Kopnene vojske (grč. Γενικό Επιτελείο Στρατού, skr. ΓΕΣ) kako mu ime kaže je glavni štab zemaljske komponente grčkih oružanih snaga. Osnovan je 1904. Od 1950. HAGS je podređen Glavnom štabu grčke nacionalne obrane. Načelnik HAGS-a (Αρχηγός ΓΕΣ, Α/ΓΕΣ) je šef helenske kopnene vojske.



The Hellenic Army General Staff (Greek: Γενικό Επιτελείο Στρατού, abbrev. ΓΕΣ) is the general staff of the Hellenic Army, the terrestrial component of the Greek Armed Forces. It was established in 1904. Since 1950, the HAGS is subordinated to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff. The Chief of the HAGS (Αρχηγός ΓΕΣ, Α/ΓΕΣ) is the head of the Hellenic Army.

INFANTRY DIRECTORATE PJEŠADIJSKE JEDINICE

Crvena boja simbolizira krv pješadinaca poginulih u borbama tokom borbe za oslobođenje grčkog naroda. Puška i sablja su, po Kraljevskom dekretu od 02. 03. 1833. godine, osnovno naoružanje pješadinaca. Svjetiljka simbolizira vjeru u Boga i ujedno je i počast mrtvima.

Red Colour symbolizes the blood of the Infantry men killed in action in the sacred struggles of the Nation. Rifle and Sword are the basic arms of the Infantry ordered by a Royal Decree on March 2, 1833. Lantern symbolizes worship to God and honour to the deads.

ENGINEER DIRECTORATE INŽINJERIJSKE JEDINICE

Za svoj znak inžinjerci su izabrali ovnovu glavu, što simbolizira "razbijačkog ovna" kojeg su koristili antički Grci, prilikom opsada, za razbijanje ulaza u utvrde. Poslije su to preuzeli Rimljani i kasnije Bizantinci. U svojem djelu o taktici, bizantinski vladar Leo VI Mudri, među opsadnim mašinama navodi i "ovnove". Ovnova glava je u raznim Jonskim prikazima predstavljala snagu i jačinu. U antičkim je vremenima ovan smatran i simbolom slobode. ovnovo runo je i "zlatno runo" koje je Jason uz pomoć Argonauta, prethodno ubivši zmaja (simbola ropstva), donio u Grčku. Moto inžinjeraca je: "Uz riječi dolaze i djela".

The Engineer's emblem is the ram. It symbolizes the siege ram, of striking nature of ancient Greeks, which was used for violating the entrenchment. The ram, as a siege machine, was delivered by the Ancient Greeks and was initially used by the Romans and posterior by the Byzantines. In the "tactics" Leo VI the wise says that among the siege machines are included the so called ''seige rams''. For the protection of the city walls against the siege rams, packsaddles field by straw or sand were used. The head of the ram in various representations of the Ionians symbolized the force and the power. The ram in ancient time was the symbol of freedom. Frixus and Elli mounted on a ram in their attempt for escape from inner Asia to the free and democratic Greece. Ram fleece was the Golden Fleece, which Jason managed to seize with the help of Argonauts, and he killed the dreadful dragon, symbol of slavery, and he emancipated the daughter. Over the ram there is an epigram, which says ''as long with the words the acts come'', meaning immediate after a decision has taken place, it must be implemented, exactly as in the operations of Engineering.

ARTILLERY DIRECTORATE ARTILJERIJSKE JEDINICE

Tokom vojnih operacija, zadatak poljske artiljerije sastoji se od pružanja brze i kontinuirane vatrene podrške manevarskim snagama, radi uništavanja ili neutralizacije ciljeva koji ugrožavaju izvršenje vlastite misije. Misija artiljerije protuavionske obrane je obuzdati učinkovitost neprijateljskih napadačkih operacija tako da sve prijateljske trupe mogu djelovati bez otpora.
During the military operations, Field Artillery’s mission consists of provision of prompt and continuous fire support to the maneuver forces, in order to destroy or neutralize targets, which threaten the execution of our own mission. The mission of Air Defense Artillery is to restrain the effectiveness of the enemies’ attacking operations so that all the friendly troops can act unopposed.

Amblem artiljerijskih jedinica je službeno usvojen 1968. godine. Sastoji se od dvije ukrštene haubičke cijevi i rakete. Dvije topovske cijevi predstavljaju poljsku artiljeriju, dok raketa simbolizira Protivavionsku odbranu.
The emblem was formally sanctioned in 1968. It is a composition of the missile and two howitzers crossed. The two cannons symbolize the Field Artillery. The missile symbolizes the Air Defense Artillery.

MILITARY POLICE DIRECTORATE UPRAVA VOJNE POLICIJE

Na grčkom se vojna policija naziva "Stratonomia", što je kombinacija riječi "Strato" (što znači vojska) i riječi "Nomia" (što znači zakon). Značenje cijele riječi je djeljenje pravde. Amblem prikazuje: grčku zastavu, koja izražava patriotizam. Starogrčki šljem izražava snagu i hrabrost koju svaki čovjek u Vojnoj policiji mora imati. Mač izražava snagu i odlučnost koju mora pokazati pripadnik Vojne policije, kao čuvar zakona i Jaram koji predstavlja pravo i pravdu.
In Greek language the Military Police is called "Stratonomia", which is a combination the word "Strato" (it means army) and word "Nomia" (it means law). The meaning of the whole word is award of justice. The emblem shows: the Greek Flag, which express the patriotism. An ancient Greek Helmet, which express the strength and the bravery that every man in Military Police must have. A Sword, which express the power and the decisiveness that a member of the Military Police must show, as a law enforcer and Yoke which express the meaning of law and justice.

TEHNICAL DIRECTORATE TEHNIČKA UPRAVA

Misija Tehničkog korpusa je održavanje tehničkog materijala i opreme Helenske vojske te održavanje i obnavljanje njezinih borbenih uvjeta. Misija Tehničkog korpusa je sljedeća: Održavanje - Pouzdanost bilo koje vrste tehničke opreme Helenske vojske, vraćanje i transport uništene teške tehničke opreme, inspekcija tehničke opreme i nekoliko tehničkih studija i specifikacija.

The mission of the Technical Corps is to maintain the technical material and equipment of the Hellenic Army and to sustain and restore its fighting conditions. The mission of the Technical Corps is the following: Maintenance - Reliability of any kind of technical equipment of the Hellenic Army, recovering and transport the destroyed heavy technical equipment, inspection of technical equipment and several technical studies & specifications.

FINANCE DIRECTORATE FINANCIJSKA UPRAVA

Znak se sastoji od mača, ukrišenog sa perom, s pčelom u sredini, sve okruženo lovorovim lišćem. Mač simbolizira ekskluzivnost korpusa u kojem služe samo oficiri. Pero simbolizira fiskalno-naučnu misiju Korpusa, kako je opisano u osnivačkoj RL 888/49, a pčela s lovorovim lišćem je oznaka financijskog korpusa.

The emblem is a cluster of a sword, pen (feather), criss-crossed with a bee in the middle, encircled by laurel leaves. The sword symbolises the exclusivity of the corps which is to be served only by Officers, the pen symbolizes the fiscal - scientific mission of the Corps, as it is described in the establishing RL 888/49 and the bee with the laurel leaves, the insignia of the Finance Corps.

TRANSPORT AND SUPPLY CORPS KORPUS SNADBIJEVANJA I TRANSPORTA

Zadatak Korpusa za opskrbu i transport je: opskrba vojske: namirnicama i opremom za pečenje kruha, krutim i tekućim gorivom, mazivima i tehničkim materijalom. Održavanje zaliha navedenih materijala i provođenje kontrole kvalitete hrane, naftnih ulja i maziva u laboratorijima za kemijsku analizu. Tu je i snadbijevanje jedinica iz zraka kad god i gdje god je potrebno, koristeći avione grčkih avio snaga ili helikoptere KoV-a, opremljene dobro obučenim osobljem. Obavljaju i cestovni prijevoz zaliha, materijala i osoblja vlastitim prijevoznim sredstvima.

The mission of the Supply and Transport Corps is to: supply the Army with: Food supplies and bread-making equipment, supplies of solid and liquid fuel, lubricants and technical material. Maintain stocks of the above mentioned supplies and conduct quality controls on food, petroleum oil and lubricants in chemical analysis laboratories. Resupply the Army Units by air whenever and wherever required, using aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force or Army Aviation helicopters, equipped with well-trained personnel. Perform road transport of supplies, materials and personnel using its own transport means.
