MODERN PENTATHLON  MODERNI PETOBOJ   Modern femkamp

Modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport that was introduced before the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, following an idea by Pierre de Coubertin. Coubertin's idea was to create a modern version of the pentathlon of the ancient Olympic Games. Modern pentathlon consists of: fencing, swimming 200 meters, riding, pistol shooting and cross-country running 300 meters.

Military pentathlon is a sport with a military background, but since the sport in its civilian form became a member of the national sports federation in 1962, it is also open to the public. The sport is based on modern pentathlon, but riding and fencing were replaced by militarily more modern disciplines such as obstacle courses and throwing dummy grenades. Military pentathlon consists of: shooting, obstacle course in running, obstacle course in swimming, hand grenade throwing and cross-country running.

SWEDEN'S MILITARY SPORTS FEDERATION  ŠVEDSKI VOJNI SPORTSKI SAVEZ   Sveriges militära idrottsförbund

Švedsko vojno sportsko udruženje osnovano je 1909. Godine 1987. došlo je do promjene imena u Švedsko vojno-sportsko i više-sportsko udruženje (Sveriges Militäridrotts-och Mångkampsförbund SMI) s ciljem povećanja civilnih sportskih aktivnosti. Unutar SMKF postoje danas tri sekcije moderni petoboj, orijentacijsko trčanje i vojni petoboj.

Sweden's Military Sports Association was formed in 1909. In 1987, a name change took place to Sweden's Military Sports and Multi-Sports Association (Sveriges Militäridrotts-och Mångkampsförbund SMI) with due to increasing civilian sports activities. Since 2002, when the Swedish Armed Forces took over responsibility for the international military professional sports, the name of the association is the Swedish Multi-athletic Federation (Svenska Mångkampsförbunde SMKF). Within SMKF there are today the three sections modern pentathlon, orienteering and military pentathlon.

FOR SWEDEN  ZA ŠVEDSKU   För Sverige

Sporrong & Co.

From the start there were five different tests divided into different sports that together qualified you for the badge. The idea was to grow a group of sports enthusiasts through the badge and then retain them with subsequent badges; in 1946 taking a badge could take 18 years. The national sports emblem is not a medal, and the criteria for awarding it have changed over time, which is not surprising when it comes to the long series of years of existence of this badge. Three manufacturers are known: the company M. Petterson in Stockholm, then the court jeweler C. G. Hallberg. In 1908, badges were made of bronze, silver and gilded silver. If you had the money, you could also specially order a solid gold badge from the Swedish Confederation office, which brokered the allocation of all the badges. The third known manufacturer is C.C. Sporrong & Co.
